PURPOSE

Culture is what gives us identity and a sense of belonging. It is passed down from generation to generation. Therefore, the purpose of this committee is to strive towards reversing the trend at which our culture is fast becoming extinct. We must retrace our steps with a view to creating a network, and empowering our youths to embrace our cultural heritage, with pride and dignity.

COMMISSION

Therefore, we encourage all Igbo men and women in the Bay area and beyond, being the last Generation between these Young Adults and our Ancestral Home to provide moral and every Support to this Forum!

OBJECTIVES

Our Igbo culture is what makes us unique because it lays the foundation for our moral values. The main objective of this committee is to expose our children to this rich culture and tradition, so they would embrace it and intermingle with one another to ensure their continuity. The current trend indicates that we have not provided adequate opportunities for our children to relate to one another. This trend should be reversed through celebrating our youths and creating a social avenue where they can interact and learn more about the Igbo culture. This was what inspired this group of women to come together and reflect on this very important issue.

Women who are ready to deeply inspire our youths to: more, create more and collaborate more into our culture and tradition. We strive to encourage our youthful adults to appreciate our own, love and cherish one another, intermingle both in friendship and in marriage. We as women are realizing that we cannot sit and watch this other cultures prey upon us voraciously. We can no longer wait for someone else to resolve the problems that we share. Our voices and visions are a big missing piece of this equation. You and I know the influence that we women have, and should have in our community. We are aware of the ever increasing demand for the expansion of that influence today. But how would we do that, especially with all the responsibility in our daily lives?. Each and every one of us has more than we can handle but we can begin this journey together with perfect passion and strategies to reach our goal. Many inspired women are here ready to share their support and render their inspiration in our Igbo community at large. You will be deeply inspired and have the opportunity to exchange ideas, passion, insights, and experiences
